Latvian Council of Science project “Determination of structural and dynamic properties of alkali diatomic molecules for quantum technology applications”,
    Project No. lzp-2018/1-0020 (September 2018 – August 2021)

Project principal investigator: Dr. Hab. Phys. Ruvin Ferber
The project is aimed to increase the knowledge on the structure and interaction of electronic states in diatomic alkali molecules in order to develop solutions for efficient laser synthesis of ultracold (below 1 mK) diatomic ensembles in the lowest ground state with frozen rotational and vibrational motion. Novel high accuracy spectroscopic data in extended energy range on Rb and Cs containing diatomics will be obtained yielding experiment-based potentials of excited and ground electronic states, as well spin-orbit coupling parameters and transition strengths, in wide range of internuclear distances, in particular, close to dissociation limit. The results will allow predicting multi-step optical cycles allowing to optimize production of ultracold diatomic species.
